You guys, this is just a little feel-good high school AU bit that I wrote the other day because I needed a lift in lieu of some bad karma. Hope you like it!
Castiel has a free period between Anatomy and Advanced Language Arts that he usually spends sitting on the quad with a book and a snack - generally an apple or a baggie of dried fruit or, when he’s stressed enough to bake, an oatmeal butterscotch cookie. Today, he’s under the gigantic, sprawling oak that rests in the center of campus, its gargantuan limbs spread out like a shield overhead. He’s reading a collection of essays on the ethical consistency of man, periodically biting into a peach.
